Do you want to succeed in your cold climate garden and harvest a lot of delicious food under the midnight sun?
Inspirational lecture for those who have a garden in the north and want to get started growing different edible plants, both annuals and perennials. You will get tips and advice on simple and non-toxic methods that will help you all the way to harvest. The lecture is aimed at those who are interested in growing edibles in the place where you live and you do not need to have a greenhouse or a huge garden.
During the evening you will get tips and inspiration from Jenny’s own garden in Sävast, she will show you how to build a kitchen garden and create good soil health through cover cropping for increased biodiversity.
Together we will sow tomato seeds during the evening, have coffee and talk about cultivation and gardening dreams!
Jenny Malmqvist is a grower, garden designer, course leader and author who runs her company Grow by Jenny outside Boden in Norrbotten. She has extensive experience of growing in zone 6 and during the lecture you can follow her to her own garden where she shows through pictures and stories how the family goes about successfully growing edible in the north.
Jenny will act as a cultivation coach for you who live in Unbyn in 2025 and thanks to a new collaboration, we will meet her during several scheduled occasions. You are given the opportunity to develop your own garden together with like-minded people in the community, find gardening friends and curiously try growing what you like. At the lecture, we will look together at different proposals on how we in Unbyn can take care of and develop a community for those interested in cultivation.
